Ocie Elliott to kick off North American tour in Kelowna this fall

Jon Middleton and Sierra Lundy will be coming to Kelowna later this year.

You likely know them better as Ocie Elliott, a folk duo from Victoria, BC, whose music can maybe best be described as the type of tunes that truly make you feel things.

This morning, Ocie Elliott announced a large North American tour that will take Middleton and Lundy across the continent over two months this fall.

And it all kicks off with a show at the Kelowna Community Theatre on Thursday, Sept. 26.

Middleton says both he and Lundy bring separate things to the table when they perform as a duo.

“From the first time we sang together, we instantly reacted like, ‘Wow, this feels so good,’” he explained. “Sierra forces me to be a much better songwriter. There was a connection and synergy when we started harmonizing, and it’s only become stronger.”

Lundy echoes those thoughts, noting that there’s “something unique” about the two of them singing together.

“If I’m weak in some way, Jon’s voice will be there,” she said. “I’m a severe perfectionist, and I’m quite ADHD. I can never finish anything. Having Jon there, he’s so prolific. He’s always getting things done. Both of our personalities forge better music than we could make separately.”

The latest new music from Ocie Elliott is their 2023 EP Know The Night, which features the lead single “Free.”

The duo was nominated for a Juno Award in 2022 as Breakthrough Group of the Year, which was eventually won by Monowhales.

Tickets to see Ocie Elliott at the KCT on Sept. 26 will go on sale through Live Nation at 10 am on Friday, March 22.
